About ISESS

The International Society of Endoscopic Spine Surgery (ISESS) is a non-profit organization. The vision of this society is to promote the development of spinal endoscopic spine surgery, enhance the international academic and technology exchange in this professional field, popularize knowledge of endoscopic surgery of the spine, advance the career of spinal endoscopic surgeons, lead a sustainable innovative development of endoscopic spine surgery, benefit the patients.

From 16 to 18 June 2016, 20 experts in the field of spinal endoscope, coming from 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Germany, Turkey, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, India, Thailand, China, Chinese Taipei and so on, gathered to further discuss about the necessity and feasibility of setting up the ISESS( International Society of Endoscopic Spine Surgery ) and came up with valuable advice for the further development of ISESS.

Participants agreed to establish ISESS Executive Committee, and designate all attending experts as the Executive Committee members. They elected the meeting sponsor Dr Shuxun Hou from China, to serve as the first President of the Executive Committee. The meeting decided that all important matters of ISESS should be determined by the Executive Committee, all EC members should have equal rights, and all EC decisions should be authorized by more than half of the participating members agreement before execution.

Professor Shuxun Hou is responsible for the preparation of the first ISESS annual meeting. All EC members will actively support it and organize national and regional doctors to contribute and register to attend the meeting. Professor Shuxun Hou finally summed up and make a speech. He pointed out that the establishment of ISESS will build platforms and standardize training for young doctors, which will promote the healthy development of endoscopic spine surgery, benefit the patients.

As an independent non-profit international organization that promotes the development of spinal endoscopic surgical techniques, ISESS has been working to improve the diagnosis of spinal diseases, improve the professional knowledge and surgical techniques of the spine surgeons, lead the future development of spinal surgery, and popularize knowledge of endoscopic surgery of the spine since it was founded.
